Welcome to Bibliology 101!

REGISTRATION FOR THIS COURSE IS NOW CLOSED.
THIS COURSE WILL BE OFFERED AGAIN IN WINTER 2010.

We all share a common interest and appreciation for literature. So, why not share this passion with other staff members by opening discussion on our favorite fiction genres?

The goals for this training are to:
  • Facilitate discussion on various fiction genres so we may learn from each other’s reading strengths.
  • Generate a list of staff member’s reading preferences so that staff can turn to one another for patron recommendations and with questions regarding readers' advisory.
  • Expand staff skill level when working with BiblioCommons’ social networking features.
Over the next four weeks, we will discuss 12 popular adult genres from Christian fiction to graphic novels. Instead of blogging to record progress, staff are asked to share lists and send messages using the new catalog.

All course content will be available starting May 10. All interested staff will have until May 21 to register. Each exercise will take no more than 30-60 minutes to complete. You may complete all required exercises at your own pace, so long as you are wrapped up by the JUNE 9 DEADLINE.

Those staff members who complete all units will receive a Certificate of Completion in recognition of their efforts. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact NetTrek Coordinator Brandy Sanchez at bsanchez@dbrl.org or ext. 7047.
