All course content will be available starting Monday, May 10. All interested staff will have until Friday, May 21 to register. You may complete all required exercises at your own pace, so long as you are wrapped up by the WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9 DEADLINE.
1. Read about the following popular book genres. You will also find paper copies of these documents in the NetTrek folder labeled "Blog Documents and Instructions." These folders are located at each CCPL, CPL, and SBC Public Service desk, as well as at the CPL Circulation computer.

2. Create two separate lists in the new catalog based on two of the six genres. In each list, there should be 3-5 titles or authors that you could confidently recommend to patrons. For example, in this exercise you might choose to focus on the Horror and Western genres. You would then create two separate lists in the new catalog with 3-5 Horror titles (or authors) in one list, and 3-5 Western titles (or authors) in another list. All of your recommendations should be targeted toward adult or young adult readers.

3. Submit your username and list titles for inclusion on the NetTrek Wiki. This will allow staff to review those books recommended by other NetTrekkers and facilitate cooperative learning. It may take up to 3 days before your information is added to the wiki.

4. Send a message to at least one other staff member regarding the book recommendations provided in their lists. You will find a complete list of participating staff members and their usernames on the NetTrek Wiki. Please note that a listing will not be available until after Wednesday, May 12.This list will be updated periodically as new NetTrekkers join this course.
Be sure to include your name, department, and branch so that your co-workers identify your message as coming from another staff member.
